Julann Campbell - Artist Website |
Julann Campbell, a nationally recognized impressionist, is an oil painter who loves her medium. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, Campbell graduated from the University of Washington. Her work there, like for many, was primarily with abstract composition and design. Over the years, she ventured more toward working from life, primarily, working ?Alla Prima?, which means, working directly from life. |

She studied with Sergei Bongart and found that working this way, kept her colors honest and her eyes sharp. It also allowed her feelings a chance to enter into the field of the painting. This is probably why her paintings have been so well received.
She moved to the peninsula across the Puget Sound from Seattle. Her studio is there where she paints and teaches. She will also be teaching this year in Seattle.
